When asked about comments on a recent report from Taiwan's "National Science and Technology Council" think tank saying that the Chinese mainland is expected to surpass Taiwan in market share for mature process chips within two years, and dominating the development direction of major tech products, Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, told a press conference on Wednesday that we highly value technological innovation and market applications.
"Leveraging a comprehensive industrial system and abundant application scenarios, high-tech industries such as semiconductors and artificial intelligence have developed rapidly in recent years. Driven by global market demand, we have accumulated certain competitive advantages in the field of mature process chips," Chen said.
"In the future, we will continue to rely on our industrial foundation and vast market advantages to promote the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation, creating better conditions for the development of high-tech industries, including the semiconductor sector," Chen said.
"We hope that both sides of the Taiwan Straits can strengthen cooperation and integrated development in related industries, jointly advancing the economy of the Chinese nation. We also welcome Taiwan businesses and enterprises to seize the opportunities, continue investing in the mainland, and become deep-rooted, achieving greater development in the new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation," the spokesperson noted.
